For an eco experience with a difference, come and stay in this “off the grid” gem of a holiday home. Learning to live alongside nature is part of the charm. If you want limitless resources and mod cons, try a motel. If you want a genuine eco experience in a funky, sexy building that works organically, this is the place. The Cottage is completely self-contained – we power via solar on a 12-volt system, collect water, heat it on the fire and dispose of our waste. However, there is a fridge that will make ice in two hours, DVD/CD player, and good lighting. Primitive it ain’t.
Set in native bush on the slopes of Denniston Hill, you can sit on the covered deck, or up in the loft, enjoy the view over the top of the pungas to Waimangaroa Beach and watch fantastic West Coast sunsets.
